Ghargour Gardens, Tripoli, Libya

Masterplan Approach:

A NEW GREEN LUNG FOR TRIPOLI

Play a role in delivering the new green belt around the city. The scheme will adopt a garden concept throughout, with particular focus on a park running north-south through the whole site.

CREATE A NEW URBAN VILLAGE

A new village to create a structure that mends the fragmentation of this area of the city created by the enormous demolition and construction projects. We have designed a sustainable mixed-use scheme with retail, commercial and community uses

ENGENDER A SENSE OF BELONGING

Recognise the different scales of human community and use built form to reinforce these. There are centralised and dispersed community uses and the structure of the Masterplan creates smaller character areas within the overarching vision.

TAKE A MEASURED APPROACH

Design a robust scheme through flexibility, phase-ability, and build-ability to ensure its usefulness and longevity. The master plan is designed to be delivered in phases that make the most of the existing infrastructure, and are individually viable commercially.

CREATE CHARACTER & IDENTITY

Create a place people want to be rather than have to be. A strong city-wide retail and leisure destination is designed to become a landmark in the truest sense of the word.
